After that, the little prince climbed a high mountain.
그리고 나서, 어린 왕자는 높은 산에 올랐다.
The only mountains he had ever known were the three volcanoes, which came up to his knees.
그가 산이라고 알고 있었던 유일한 산이라고는, 겨우 그의 무릎 정도 올라오는, 세 개의 화산 뿐이었다.
And he used the extinct volcano as a footstool.
그리고 그는 불이 꺼진 화산은 발판으로 사용했다.
"From a mountain as high as this one," he said to himself, "I shall be able to see the whole planet at one glance, and all the people . . ."
"이만큼 높은 산에서라면"그는 중얼거렸다."나는 한 눈에 이 별 전체와, 모든 사람을 다 볼 수 있을 거야..."
But he saw nothing, save peaks of rock that were sharpened like needles.
그러나 그는, 바늘처럼 뾰족한 바위 꼭대기 말고는, 아무 것도 보지 못했다.
"Good morning," he said courteously.
"좋은 아침." 그는 공손히 말했다.
"Good morning--Good morning--Good morning," answered the echo.
"좋은 아침-좋은 아침-좋은 아침." 메아리가 대답했다.
"Who are you?" said the little prince.
"너는 누구야?" 어린 왕자가 말했다.
"Who are you--Who are you--Who are you?" answered the echo.
"너는 누구야-너는 누구야-너는 누구야?" 메아리가 대답했다
"Be my friends. I am all alone," he said.
"내 친구가 돼 줘. 나는 혼자야." 그가 말했다.
"I am all alone--all alone--all alone," answered the echo.
"나는 혼자야-혼자야-혼자야." 메아리가 대답했다.
"What a queer planet!" he thought.
"뭐 이렇게 괴상한 별이 있어!" 그는 생각했다.
"It is altogether dry, and altogether pointed, and altogether harsh and forbidding.
"모두 다 건조하고, 모두 다 뾰족하고, 그리고 모두 다 거칠고 험악하고.
And the people have no imagination. They repeat whatever one says to them . . .
그리고 사람들은 상상력이라고는 없고. 그들은 다른 사람이 한 말은 무엇이든지 따라하기나 하고...
On my planet I had a flower; she always was the first to speak . . ."
내 별에 나는 꽃을 한 송이 갖고 있었어. 그녀는 언제나 먼저 말을 걸었는데..."
